I really just want something that will keep track of my rides and help me gauge progress and this seems like a great tool.  Its pretty cool to see how others are doing, although some of the straight line records are certainly skewed by the stiff winds we got around here.

No I don't have a smartphone nor do I have interest in paying for the service, so its one of the Garmin Edge's I'm thinking.

Anyone on here using Strava?

I use it for everything but when I'm running errands. I started it using my iPhone, but picked up a Garmin Edge 200 that works very nicely.

Finally got my Edge 200, I'm glad I didn't drop the $$$ for the higher end models - I don't care for Cadence and HRM, these things to me are 100% feel and all that matters in the end is A the miles get put in, and B the miles are paced properly... I actually ditched my wired cadence meter and IMO its better this way.

You can follow me on Strava here if you want: http://app.strava.com/athletes/1611804

In regards to the service itself I find it really great to track progress.  I JUST got it, but I've been doing some of the routes for a while now... and I wish they were all tracked so I could look back and compare... and just today I hit some segments in my area and really attacked em - great for training, I actually hit a hill harder than I ever have specifically to set a good time to try and beat in the future... and in doing so I actually accelerated the whole way up the hill, rather than gradually slowing down like I normally do... and oddly enough I was *less* tired attacking it this way (short but steep hill).  I've had some strong lakefront trail runs as well, I wish those were tracked so I could try and top them (lakefront is VERY weather dependent though, those winds can be killer one way or the other!).

But really, it just gives me one more great reason to love riding - and I will most definitely be riding some of the fine routes outlined on the site by fellow members :)

Yep! Im a big Strava fan. I use an Edge 500. It's a great way to track data, and it can give that bit of added motivation on sa training ride :-) Here's me: http://app.strava.com/athletes/297106

Does the Garmin's screen still work in <10 weather? If not, does it still track the data?

I have an unhealthy obsession with Strava. I find it incredibly motivating. Lots of fun to use on group rides too.

I have seen the display of the screen of the Edge 200 degrade in weather below 10 degrees, but it has always been readable.  I personally have not had it out any longer than 45 minutes in the coldest days of this year.
