The Chainlink

So, I had this plan to slowly build up a pure roadie this summer and move my shimano 5600 group over to it and install this mixed bag 9 speed group I've collected onto my every day commuter so save on overall maint costs, etc.

However, I found out last week and my Fiancee and I are moving to Wilkes Barre, PA.  So, between that and saving for the wedding, my bike budget is pretty much shot.

So, here is what I have.

Shimano 105 5510 Shifters.  Were used for Cyclecross bikes, faceplates are dinged up but are 100% functional

Ultegra 6500 RD (dinged up, but fine)

Shimano 105 FD 5600(34.9 Clamp On)

Tiagra 9 Speed RD (this was thrown in for free in a Craigslist deal, consider it a 9 speed spare RD)

Shimano R560 Brakes (basically brand new, will throw in an extra set of road pads since i borrowed the pads from them to replace on my old bike)

12-26 9 Speed cassette (used, but alot of life left)

BC 1609 (with cadence sensor) Cyclecomputer, complete in box.  Upgraded to wireless.  The computer itself was used by the mounting hardware is new

MKS GR-9 Pedals - has red toe clips which are scratched up.

What frame size 29er are you potentially in the market for? And how do you define "low end"?

I have a beautiful XL Niner frame for sale for $450

http://www.thechainlink.org/forum/topics/xl-niner-s-i-r-steel-mtb-f... but unfortunately I'm not in the market for any of the parts you list.

Perhaps you can add the frame to your wedding gift registry. What says "good luck young couple" like a 29er frame?

Sadly a XL frame is probably a bit too big for my stubby legs.  I'm 6'2'' but my I only have a 32'' inseam.  That is a purdy frame, however.

So, As I've basically had no hits on this in terms of trades, I'm thinking it's not a bad idea to sell and get some monies for the bike swap on Sunday.  I'd like to get $200 for everything.  I've also got a MKS GR-9 Pedals that I found I'd toss in (red cheap toeclips on them)

So come, get your groupo for your roadie/commuter/cross project on the cheap.

hey TehDoak -

I am a bit tempted by the shifters (my rear shifter sticks) but want to try to keep my bike all Ultegra.

I am sure these are fine. Do you have an idea of how old (how many miles) they have been riddden ?

thanks in advance

p.s. the bike swap is Saturday, not Sunday.

Dan,

To be honest I'm not sure on the age.  I got them used from craigslist to use on a project in the future.  The faceplates are scratched up as they were used for cross, but they appear to be 100% functional.  I'd like to move as much of the groupset as possible together.

I can get some pictures when I get home

Matt

So, deal for the day:

$175 for the everything:

105 5510 Shifters

Shimano 105 FD 5600(34.9 Clamp On)

Ultegra 6500 RD

Tiagra 9 Speed RD

Shimano R560 Brakes

12-26 9 Speed cassette

BC 1609 (with cadence sensor) Cyclecomputer, complete in box

MKS GR-9 Pedals

I'll be going to the bike swap saturday morning early (from 10 AM-11 AM-ish)  so I can bring them with me

Welp, no takers on the groupset so far.   As the bike swap has passed I'm gonna move this back to purely For Trade only.

Alright kids, Spring has sprung and I have to start packing to move.  Make me an offer on the whole package.
