Hello Chainlink. I have yet another misfortune in the biking world. My custom made bike was stolen from Wicker Park yesterday. The bike is very distinctive because all parts are different companies along with some stickers that were on the bike. **On the front of the frame where the headset goes is a sticker that says "My friend died because someone opened the door" and along the seat tube down to the cranks is spelled out "TECHNICS" in gold/black font**. I had the bike for one day. I do not have a description of the criminal but I can say that he is a teenager around 16-18 and latino. I have already filed a Registry report but I realize my chances are slim. I have filed a police report for the sake of filing one because I know they wont find it. With your help I maybe will, keep your eyes open, download the picture, make it your homepage (jk), anything to help! Much appreciated!
-the bike was last seen in Lincoln Square [ Lawrence and Clark ] and around Amundsen High School. Actually, I think the kid who stole my bike goes to the school.

I live at Lawrence and Clark and go to a gym in Lincoln Square (lawrence/clark is uptown btw, not Lincoln Square). If I see this bike, I will a) call the police and b) see if I can follow them and question the rider. I won't physically mess with them (that's up to you!).
Guess it's hard to follow someone on a bike without being seen so I'll try and verify the bike is yours and then call 5-0.
I only got a literally 5 second glance at it but a bike just went by me that might (repeat, MIGHT, I had such a fast shot at seeing it) have been yours. Damen and Lawrence, on the east side sidewalk, heading southbound, towards the damen brown line. This was 30 seconds ago. I just sent you a friend request but messed up and forgot to include a description of the rider in it- accept my request and I'll tell you what little more I know. Sorry , he passed me so fast I'm indoors and couldn't get outside fast enough to see more. All I saw was same handlebar style and a lot of black and gold and remembered that this was the area you thought your bike had been seen in.
