The Chainlink

sometimes I wonder if there is something wrong with me...like when I'm wringing out my soaking wet shorts, t-shirt, socks and boxer shorts in a sink at work with a massive grin on my face after an amazing ride in this morning - it was like being in a Motorhead video! - and the rain coming off the overpass onto the path when it crosses over the river was like riding through a waterfall - good times!

I am weird, but I like the lightning and thunder. To me, it seems even if there is a slight chance of getting hit by lightning, I am willing to risk it to see nature in all its fury.  And I usually just pack all my business/work clothing in a water proof pannier and put it in a plastic bag, just in case my pannier springs a leak.

You are right about the chance of being hit by lightning, but all that thunder and lightning is often accompanied by big gusts of wind--as it was this a.m.  And I prefer the thunder and lightning from the comfort of being indoors.  Just a wimp, I know.

32nd Street just east of Wallace, Monday July 23 around 10:30 am.

I have not had a chance to look out a real window all day (the one in my office is frosted and looks into a dim vestibule)-- has the rain let up at all?

Yup. It's all dried up now. It's turned into a crisp, clear night.

Thanks--- it was indeed a nice dry ride home.
