Wanted: Bike Parts/Tools

I thought that before going out and buying these parts new, I'd ask around to see if anyone would have these parts/tools as spare:

- sram or shimano shifters (cables and housing) for 8 speed mountain bike, 1" Quill stem (mtb)

- bike tools (chain-breaker, wrenches)

If you have these things and are looking to get rid of them, I'd be interested in buying them. Let me know.

DO you have Sram or Shimano derailleurs?

It makes a difference on which shifters will work...

Then you need Sram shifters; Shimano has a different pull ratio. Fronts will interchange but not the rears.

Not necessarily Mr. Dug. Depends upon the model of SRAM. Only the 1:1 ratio shifter/derailleurs weren't compatible. The others were meant to work with Shimano. MRX stuff works for Shimano. Any SRAM #.0 stuff is 1:1 actuation and only works with the specific SRAM.
