The Chainlink

The Chainlink Halloween party has been announced for Fri 10/26, meaning it's the most obvious destination for the mass.

I will see about rounding up some Little Village folks to plan a map that takes in the 26th street business district before ending at WBC.

Here's a rough draft... takes in the coolest parts of Chinatown, Bridgeport, McKinley Park and Little Village; gonna try to do it over more neatly but I don't have a working pencil sharpener in the house....

If it turns out to be unseasonably wet or frosty the 31st/Pulaski/26th street jog can be skipped, but 26th street is such a perfect place for a Halloween bike parade I would be sad. As presented the route is about 14 miles-- without the Little Village piece it's maybe 9.5 which would be kind of a short mass unless the weather is particularly unpleasant.

Awesome!!!

The only thing is, can the party be a stop for mass (like last year) instead of the ending place?  We only have room for 300 max and WB doesn't want rowdiness outside the building.   I think there was tagging and egging at the end of last months, right?

Racketters are set to perform as mass arrives at the party.

Damen "Cave"?... Any love? It'd be fun for massers to whoop in the spooooooky big tunnel north of 18th on Damen!... Also? The stretch of the18th street bike lane from Halsted to Western is an educational, delicious and diverse Chicago gem.

The ride is already close to 15 miles long-- I think the rest of 18th street will have to wait for another ride but in line with  Julie's expressed wish the finished map now points toward your cave.

How are the neighborhoods heading north on Damen from the end location? I will need to get back to the East Village neighborhood, and I'm not familiar with the area.

Give me your exact destination. There were some reports of some problems around Damen and Adams in the last two years or so. Otherwise no trouble spots the whole way.
