A dreary day all the way around, but your photos somehow captured the light that was there!
The colors are really coming out now. Even with the sun behind the clouds I was enjoying them along the lakefront as I rode home today.

I rode this morning, down Welles from the north like every morning. This morning, though, I rolled to where Neill Townsend lay crushed by a semi tractor after a door forced him out of our lane. First I saw his bike leaning against the truck, then I looked down and saw him dead on the pavement. The most messed up thing I've ever seen.
Bike lanes can't protect us, drivers can't be relied upon to see us or think of us. We need to band together and protect each other. Whenever there are five or six of us at a red light, we need to mob up and take the lane. Nobody left behind.

on a goofier note - Gene did you catch an Oompa Loompa on the LFP?
A bit nippy this morning on the commute into work from Skokie, but quite wonderful really.
I was super excited; this morning I rode for just the second time in almost 3 weeks. I had a case of the whooping cough and ear infection keeping me down. Feels good, man.
This morning = brrrrr!
