Who's up for a run to Three Floyds and/or Flossmoor Brewpub either 9/8 or 9/9?

Looking to get out and do a longer ride this weekend. Haven't been to either of these two places. So, who's up for a ride? The plan would be to meet up around 57th street on the LFP and head south from there. Probably be leaving late morning-ish?

Just a heads up on 3 Floyds, some friends rode down this week end and had to wait an hour and a half to get into the place. Try Bulldog Brewery in Whiting IN. or Flossmore instead.

I want to go! I can do 9/9. I seem to have missed out on all of the longer rides this year, and would love to do one.

I might be down for 9/9.  I also recommend leaving earlier to get there before the lunch rush if 3 Floyds is the destination.

My experience with Three Floyds the last three times is that it is impossible to beat the lunch rush on the weekends. (last time was 1/14/12; arrived 15 minutes after they opened; waited almost 45 minutes to be "invited" inside). I'm pretty much done with these guys. They're simply too precious to be bothered with customer service or courtesy. Flossmoor Station is virtually the same ride, great beer, more room (I've never had to wait), and the Metra Electric is right out the back door for those who want to avoid the ride back.

There is also the brand new One Trick Pony in Lansing, IL (right across from Munster, IN).   The beers are good (no food) and the people are friendly but they have weird hours:

95% certain i will do this!

A bunch of us are heading to bulldog brewery, 3 floyds and flossmoor the following weekend if interested. (event awaiting approval)

Serge, I think you should consider swimming before your half marathon :)

Serge,

The more the merrier. I say go for it, if it wouldn't take too much out of you, what with running a half-marathon first and then riding 21 miles. It'd be nice to have more people along.

But!

I'm running the half marathon that morning.

On the other hand:

The start/finish line is on the Hayes Drive, which brings me almost half way there already.

The race starts at seven, I hope to finish by 9 or close to it, so I'll have time to change and catch my breath.

I can take Metra back.

Hmm . . .

Damn it. I feel like I can't make any awesome rides lately. Had to miss Serge's Crown ride due to my wife double booking me, and now I'm scheduled out for two weekends. Where were all these awesome rides in August??

Sorry Celt. Golf in the morning. Lawn party in the afternoon. Have fun.

Michelle, Casey, Kevin - anyone who has replied on this topic - are you going? If so, please RSVP over on the calendar of events so I know how many people will be going. Thanks!

If you were really serious about cross-training, you'd swim there.

Don't leave without me! ;)

It was great meeting and riding with everyone! Nick and I had a blast, and now I've got a few good beers to soothe my tired legs. Cheers.
