as much as i love New Glarus beer, and think the town is absolutely charming, we probably shouldnt return this year. the first year, we got the farmer in trouble with the feds, the second year we got chased off the brewery grounds and started a facebook war with the proprietor as she stated how much they hate us money wielding chicagoans, how the packers are gonna kick our ass, and that we are not welcome there.
so...im thinking Michigan this year. and i will refer to my Michigan specialists for help in coordinating - the Aaron and Katie Bussey clan. New Holland Brewery? Founders Brewery? Bell's? something along the Musketawa trail? something along the kal-haven trail?
Now, these breweries dont exacty seem to have an Oktoberfest per se...but, i think we can make one. get our own band to play some fun oompa and beer drinking songs, create our own dance floor, etc etc. of course, this would be coordinated with the brewery ahead of time. lederhosen are highly encouraged.
once again, we will be using reggies bus to get out there. maybe we will have a box truck again. even better, maybe we will have or own bus!!
thoughts? suggestions? alternatives?

currently the leading contender for oktoberfest is Galena IL...
yep, got a 30 acres site lined up, just 3 miles outside of town. working out the details currently. zee komitee will present the details shortly.
from zee oktoberfeztkomitee:
zis year, vee vill be zelebrating oktoberfest in Galena Illinoiz. Galena has been zelebrating in feztivities for 6yrs. from zee vebzite:
Annual German celebration featuring live music, kids games, wiener dog races and lots of food and beverage. Enjoy a bean bag tournament, raffle drawings with great prizes, polka dancing and lessons, beer stein endurance contest, and the ceremonial tapping of the keg. Food will be served by local favorites, Benjamin’s Restaurant, Galena Elks, and Extra Batch Bakery. This event raises money for the Galena Lions Club and it’s fun for the whole family!
as always, vee vill be arriving by reggies bus. vee vill again rent a box truck to transport eqwipment. vee vill be camping 3 miles outside of downtown, on the 50 acres of the Palace campgrounds (zee oldest campground in illinois). an event vill be posted later today mit some additional details and costs. ve are anticipating about 30 people. rsvps are a must, and funds vill be collected for zee bus only. campgrounds are "per tent" so zee people vill need to coordinate accordingly.
