"Historic" Webster Street?"Historic" Webster Street?

On Webster St., just W of Clark, there's a sign that identifies the street as a "historic bicycle boulevard" or some such. Does anyone know why? Google was no help.

Belden doesn't connect to the rest of the boulevard system, though.

Not sure what the mystery is. Diversey was supposed to be the final leg of the boulevard system but was never completed as such. Whoever had the remarkably horrible idea to put the route signs along the entire system (the boulevards are some of the most inhospitable places in Chicago to ride a bike) obviously had a flash of rational thought when deciding where to put the signage for the last leg to connect back to Lincoln Park, and chose a street that didn't suck quite as badly as Diversey.

Randy Neufeld would absolutely know this as it happened under his tenure.
