as much as i love New Glarus beer, and think the town is absolutely charming, we probably shouldnt return this year.  the first year, we got the farmer in trouble with the feds, the second year we got chased off the brewery grounds and started a facebook war with the proprietor as she stated how much they hate us money wielding chicagoans, how the packers are gonna kick our ass, and that we are not welcome there.

so...im thinking Michigan this year. and i will refer to my Michigan specialists for help in coordinating - the Aaron and Katie Bussey clan. New Holland Brewery? Founders Brewery? Bell's? something along the Musketawa trail? something along the kal-haven trail?

Now, these breweries dont exacty seem to have an Oktoberfest per se...but, i think we can make one. get our own band to play some fun oompa and beer drinking songs, create our own dance floor, etc etc. of course, this would be coordinated with the brewery ahead of time. lederhosen are highly encouraged.

once again, we will be using reggies bus to get out there. maybe we will have a box truck again. even better, maybe we will have or own bus!!

thoughts? suggestions? alternatives?

so...odd side brew is awesome, ill assume the same for the brew pub. new holland, same thing.

my thoughts...  take the bus up to odd side in Grand Haven. imbibe.  ride down the bike trail 22 miles to holland, party like there will never be an oktoberfest2012 again! camp, recover, get on the bus, stop at green bush on the way home.

two other places that were recommended were Van Buren State Park and Covert Township Park. Saugatuck and Livery breweries are relatively close by but not really.

What was Reggies distance limitation?

Don't think they had one per se, but they did think new glarus was a hike

Somewhat related but still a bit off-topic, I've been thinking of trying to get a group together to bike the Kentucky Bourbon trail.  There's bike maps and guides, that give multiple options of varying distances and difficulties.  It might be an option to consider although we'd have to be more careful not to sample too much product at the distilleries.

They said katie and aarons wedding was to far
