So my husband and I rode to Wrigley today for the (extremely disappointing) final game of the Cubs/Sox series. We were dismayed to see the bike valet at the NE corner of Clark and Waveland sponsored by SRAM/World Bicycle Relief wasn't there. We've utilized this multiple times a season for the past few years, and it always seemed to be pretty full. Today there was a row of maybe 10 racks on the SE corner that was absolutely packed, and we saw a ton of occupied sign posts, so clearly demand wasn't an issue. We ended up grabbing a post by Waveland and Racine. If I hadn't brought my lock and cable, we would have been SOL, since my husband left his lock at home. As it was I didn't feel great about leaving them there, but everything was intact when we got back.

Does anyone know if this is a permanent change? I considered that maybe it was because of the NATO summit. This is the first game I've been to this year, and otherwise I avoid Wrigleyville on game days, so I haven't had a chance to see it on other days. It's still listed on the Cubs website.

It's now on the south side of Waveland, east of Clark, next to the player parking lot. They may have removed it for NATO/Crosstown Classic.

Bike valet is now located at the corner of Waveland and Seminary.

Thanks for the replies, folks. If I had gone in on that side of the field I probably would have seen it. It's good to know it's still around and I'm looking forward to using it soon. At least it's *something* to look forward to during the rest of this Cubs season...

It's there all right.  I've used it twice now, they are great.  It's super convenient too. The valet guy has remembered my bike both times and when I tried to hand him some change as a tip and tell him I had no dollars, he wouldn't take it.  Now to figure out how to sneak in a bookmark all the bikes :))

My grandfather is turning over in his grave as I type anything positive about the cubs. My family are diehard sox fans.  See picture below of aunt in a sox cycling jersey we bought her and a link to an article about the cubs in her ChicagoNow blog South Side Sports Chick.

I've used the valet three times since I first posted this. The disadvantage to the new location is that it's closer to the swarms exiting the field... but it's further away from all the suburban shuttle buses that line up on Clark, so that's a bonus. Re: tips, my husband told me he tried to give a dollar tip once and they wouldn't/couldn't take it. If that's not true, I owe them like $20 :P. Get ya next time, guys.

In my experience they will take it.
