Are the Marauders and other like minded cyclists meeting up before the Mcdonalds Midnight L.A.T.E Ride somewhere? Anyone planning on crashing the ride in large numbers?

I don't see anyone discussing this happening online or in person. And for some reason I ain't on the MM list serve, I should probably get on that.

Two years ago the L.A.T.E Ride audit was super bad ass fun. It was certainly one of the more memorable midnight rides in recent memory.

You know what else is bullshit about the Late Ride?

Even the volunteers have to fucking pay. WTF!

I'm definitely auditing this ride.

I am having a hard time being appalled that an organization that stages an event with the primary goal of raising funds has the nerve to collect a fee for participation, but I can't see how they're not shooting themselves in the foot by charging volunteers. Is this the way they've been doing it, or new for this year?

Before the ride, we need help at Warehouse Work Nights. During the ride, we need help with on-site registration, rest stop, breakfast, along the route and more. Volunteers ride for just $25. Course marshal volunteers and on-bike medic volunteers pay only $10. Non-riding volunteers are free.

VOLUNTEERS MUST COMPLETE THIS FORM

So, if you're out there helping with the flow of the ride, or do first aid, you have to pay $10 for the privilege. Awesome!

No, it's not new.  They've charged riding volunteers a fee for at least the past 3 years.

Martin has typically announced the particulars of the Audit in years past through an email to members of Marauders.

Since this guy is relentless in his attempt to ruin the party for others it is hard to follow the and ascertain the finer points.

What are the details as far as time and location of the meetup once more?

Yeah Martin wants me to call him. I assume someone would'a told me about that on Monday. Hope I didn't step on his toes! : |

Non-riding volunteers are free at least they are giving some people a break by not charging them a fee for allowing them to donate their free time and labor.

Is it ok if I ride the audit based on pure spite? I wasn't planning on going seeing as I've got work early Sunday morning, but now it almost feels like I'm being inspired by a certain troll.

I kind of tried in a rather weak, lame way.

For late arrivers, such as me, who wants to give up their digits and field location texts?

I'm curious to know what motivates people to volunteer for this event, fee or no fee.

Auditjacker!!
