Starved Rock. July 7-9, 2012 (3 days)

would like to make this a 3-day-er so the bones can relax a bit longer. lets nail down some dates.

Slingshot via metra to Joliet. google maps proposed route. ~62 miles along the I&M canal trail that follows the Des Plaines and Illinois Rivers, and of course, the canal and is almost entirely off roads. there is a shortcut that can shave 3 miles but takes ya off the I&M trail.

i must ask this question - do we prefer a goup site or individual sites? (group is much easier to manage organizationally, individual, the impetus is on you, but trying to get us together may be a disaster, and either way, we need to reserve asap)

I think a group site is the way to go, less hassles for everyone all in all.

well, lets let the shit show begin. no adult group sites, only youth. and though i assured them we are quite immature, we need to get individual sites. 4 persons per site, two tents - or -4 1 man tents per site. and any combo in between i guess.

so - i need at least one person managing a site that will responsible for reservations. and keeping your alcohol well concealed. as of right now, we need three confirmed sites. i can edit the confirmed group to organize "site groups". who's with me?

on that note, i may look up nearby private campgrounds - but i do prefer to support the state park.
