Chicago Humanities Festival presents Vélo Théâtre's The Postman

Laden with letters and packages to deliver, a postman sets out on his bicycle. Opening one of the packages, he discovers a fantastic and magical world inside. One package — and adventure — leads to another in this wordless play, a living postcard full of imagination, humor, and the wonder of discovery. France’s Vélo Théâtre returns to Stages, Sights & Sounds after performing There’s a Rabbit in the Moon in the 2010 festival.

This performance is recommended for ages 4 and up. Running time is 60 minutes.

Cycling yields many benefits.  Nice calves, happy commutes, low travel costs.  And now, special offers via The Chainlink.  Check back here soon for more exclusive perks for members of our community.  See you in the bike lane!

Wait--I forgot to add the bit about what keeps me riding--my bad.

I started, like a lot of people, 'cause I was overweight and out of shape.  It wasn't long before I got hooked, though--absolutely addicted to the feeling of flying through the city like a bat!  Nowadays with more and more people getting around this way, there's this wonderful feeling of being part of a flock, darting in and around obstacles descending on traffic stops and swooping away again.  Asia may be losing their traditional bike cultures as they buy more cars, but here I'm so pleased to see steps in the other direction.

Thanks for the tickets!  We're bringing the kids tonight--come join us!

Thanks, Julie!

Like Ghandi said "Be the change you want to see in the world." That's what keeps me riding, plus getting around town any other way is BORING. Amos and Avery would love to go to the play on Saturday if there is a pair of tickets left.

Yes! There will be a pair for Amos and Avery.  It will be under your name Erin.

We just got back a little bit ago and the show was wonderful!  The storm gave us a pretty good show on the way home, too.

The woman who runs box office was thrilled to meet Chainlink people and thanks you very much, Julie.

Get there early enough to be seated on the floor near the stage--some of the performance is with tiny little puppets and you'll want the kids to see the action.  Also--let us know how you like the show upstairs about Political Art of the 1980's--I've been trying to get there on a Tuesday for a month now.

AWESOME!!!! Thanks for sharing.

I won't be able to make it tomorrow, but just learned from our friends over at CHF that this play is good entertainment for grown ups too.

We have two more pairs of tickets to give away.  If anyone else is interested after that, just speak up and let us know.   Happy Friday!

Thank you thank you thank you. The show was magical for my 5 1/2 year old and his 39 year mom. What a special treat.

Wasn't it great?  Did you make it upstairs after?

Thank you!! We had a great time.
