Hey all,

I got invited to join this group on facebook because of another group I'm associated with. 

Regardless of how you feel about "hipsters" living in Pilsen, a group promoting violence against cyclists is unacceptable. I would encourage everyone to send a message to the woman who formed this group and share your thoughts. 

Posts in the group such as this: 

'I hit a hipster with my car smoking a roll up and she call me a spic.. and kept on biking'


'ooo how about getting in a car really fast and then opening the driver door side when they roll up...and they are riding with no hand hopefully lol'

I wonder if the new research on homophobia applies - those who are most hateful tend to be closeted (in this case) hipsters :)

I think you are onto something. It is probably painful for these kids who have pretty much dedicated their entire lives to being as cool as possible to find their niche ignored while the hipsters get all the attention.

The two groups have a lot in common: ill-defined and often contradictory counter-cultural sentiments, alienation and a herd-mentality aesthetic based on more or less entirely random memes.

^This. Look at how some of the admins are dressed/what their interests are. Pure hipster, from what my stereotypical impressions are.  I have nothing against hipsters per se; I used to be one.  We just called it "being Alternative" in the 90's.  I grew up, my hair fell out, and I got sick of flannel. Happens to most of us.

If you look at any of the members of the group you'll realize that this is the most delicious irony. Everyone in that group is either a hipster or a variant of some trendy bullshit like "the scene" or metalheads or whatever-the-fuck-else. I say ignore it, report the page, and press charges if anything actually does happen. People are stupid.

Hahahaha... I like this one. The term for self loathing is also called "autophobia", which when at first I looked at the words, verbatim, it sounds like one who is afraid of auto mobile.
