I'm looking to start a weekly (or bi-weekly depending on the amount of interest...) group ride to 2-3 new bars per week. In the vein of 'New Bar Tuesday' (if you're not familiar...chicagonewbartuesday.blogspot.com/) but spreading things out a bit and making it an evening ride. The idea is we, as a group, would start by throwing out a bunch of bar ideas (new spots, favorites, dives, whatever) and I'll pick out 2 or 3 per week and route a ride starting at a designated start location taking the 'scenic route' to the bars. I have some contacts in the bar/restaurant industry and my hope is if we can get a solid group together, i can get in touch with the establishments ahead of time to set up some sort of deal for us.

all neighborhoods are fair game. while this is primarily supposed to be a 'ride' those without bikes can feel free to join by meeting us at one place or another at a designated time.

Let's start by seeing who is interested and taking it from there...

either shoot me an email a ckelahan@gmail.com with the subject line 'bikes & bars' or hit me on twitter (@colinmkelah)

+1 for Bar on Buena
Some of the bars listed can get pretty crowded, like Hopleaf. There's never not a line everytime I go there. Some are also bike friendly with bike racks next to the place like Guthrie's. A couple more I'd like to recommend close to my place:
Hophaus on Clark and HowardBroadway Cellars, St Andrews Inn, and Moody's - all within one block off Broadway and Thorndale in Edgewater.

Are women going to be allowed before 11pm?

Why not?
Looks like possible storms on Wednesday. Hopefully the weather cooperates!

of course.

Looking to get a headcount for Wednesday. I've got a few ideas for where we are going but it will depend on how many folks are coming out.

Give me an 'I'm in' on the discussion board or RSVP to the event

Hope to see you Wednesday!

yes!  i'd love to join.  sounds like an awesome idea!  it seems I already missed the first one, but count me in for the next!

Next ride will be Wednesday 5/2
