Yep, perception Vs reality. Two bike guys chatting at breakfast, an the topic turns to runners. Wrong direction too. Thanks, S.
Dances with light. WOW The shimmering reflection in the lagoon, cool.

Steel Driver said:An astute observation by Joe from the Breakfast Club Ride. Runners seldom get together for social runs, they're meeting up to compete. Bike driving in a social group can be the complete opposite end of the spectrum. And it's cool for me to learn and participate in different rides. I encourage the growing number of commuters to find a group with a pace you enjoy and BIKES AWAY...
I disagree, there's quite a few social runs happening all around chicago. For example, fleet feet has 3 runs a week at each store including runs dedicated for women. Other running stores tend to have similar things and the various running groups do as well. There's even a running version of the marauders ride/fbc called hash hour harriers that's been going on around the world since the late 1930s.
Thanks, I fully accept the native American name. I am honored by it.
This whole thing of daily photo-logging my rides has improved my skills and pushes me. Being more observant, my ability to recognize a shot and the achnowledgement that I need to tell a story in each photo are all enhanced daily.
Thanks for your thoughts; I am motivated by them.

Gene, your pictures inspired me to bring my camera on my ride to the end of the LFP today. Quality is nowhere near your pictures, but I tried.
When the weather warms a bit, a weekend photo-ride would be a delight. Stay tuned.
Gene, I've been meaning to ask, what kind of setting are you using in your pics? The colors in particular really seem to pop.

Holy crap.....ran Shamrock Shuffle yesterday, rode to and from it as well and I got a keychain from the bike valet! My legs are wiped but I dug out my cold weather gear and biked to work this morning.
glad i didnt put away my cold weather gear yet...
Long story briefly, Jeff: I had two professional photographers recommend the compact Canon S95. One trip with it and I set aside my clunky, overpriced Nikon, still-good-and-working digital SLR as my backup for work and personal. One of the many choices on the Canon S95 that works well for what I do outside is a vivid color setting. It turns faces red and does not work well in high-contrast shots, but is one remarkable setting. I take most of my photos on the fly, so I do not need heavy or clunky nor have the time to adjust settings; this is the camera for (photo-technically-challenged) me.

Count me in for a photo safari, be interesting to see the different styles and images captures by different people on the same ride.
