You blew the red light east bound on Lawrence at Damen at 5:26 pm this evening.
There was enough time for the biker in front of me to make it half way into the intersection, northbound on Damen, before you came whizzing past my front wheel.
I yelled "You're an idiot!" at your big haired chick, self, and you looked back at me. I meant it!
I woulda testified for any of the cars, that managed to not kill you, if they had.
Keep riding like a tard!
love,
gabe
Witness bad behavior during your commute? Feel free to post. Maybe that lovely human can read it and think they are famous. Maybe you can also inspire the whole generation of kids to shower but we can start with small things.

Fact: civilized ones of our species are a dwindling lot. Malthus is laughing in his grave.
Here's to safer riding.
Join us at this year's Ride of Silence on Wednesday, May 16.
(Chicago ROS departs Daley Plaza at 7pm)
Help us raise awareness that cyclists have a right to share the road (safely). Ride to honor fallen cyclists. Ride in a rally to honor all cyclists!
I witness such bicyclists all the time - especially interesting to watch them navigate those 6-corner intersections along Lincoln Ave.
What 6-corner stories do you have? I may feature it in my next post to bikecommuters.com
I got one that made me feel good. Chick bike rider along the LFP rides up along side me and says "I like your tattoo." and points at her calf to explain (she likely figured I couldn't hear as I had headphones on). I have her a "awww hey, thanks." and we kept on riding. Made me feel good. Thanks again! ;-)
To the guy who blew through the red light on Armitage to turn right on Milwaukee, and the many many more I've seen barrel full speed around corners making rights on red without pausing let alone stopping: the traffic with the green light has the right of way. Not only the cars, but also your fellow bicyclists who you cut off and the pedestrians you nearly hit.
And while I'm at it, I see far too many people blowing the red light at Milwaukee & Noble in the morning at full speed, with no regard to the pedestrians. The crossing guard there is always yelling "Watch the bikes" to the pedestrians, and she shouldn't have to - we should be watching for them.
To add to Cheryl's post, I have one of my own: To the completely oblivious, well dressed and coiffed woman on the cute pink cruiser blowing the red light at the intersection of Armitage, Lincoln and Sedgwick, and almost getting killed if an astute driver hadn't swerved in time to avoid you; you are not the Queen of the Road. Next time, pay more attention, as I don't want to witness a bloodbath nor have to testify that you were actually completely in the wrong as the driver had a very solid green light. The best part is that you turned up your nose to the driver and not missing a single pedal stroke, kept blithely pedaling as if all was wonderful in the world. I guess it was since you didn't get hit.
It's going to be a long summer.
Boy, I must be in a mood this week, but I have another one :)
Thank you, Mr. Rolled Up Blue Jeans and Baseball Cap on the black road bike for clipping my handlebars while trying to pass me as I waited behind a line of very tightly packed cars at a stoplight, as I knew I wouldn't be able to fit between them, but you so wisely decided that you could, albeit by carefully walking your bike between them after clipping me. A simple "excuse me" or "sorry" would have been a nice touch-or even an "on the left" to give me a heads up. I also admired your etiquette skills as you then proceeded to bang on the passenger side door of a car crossing the intersection with you, and then flipped off the driver who you felt was too close to you, as well. Nice way to make it safe for all of us.
Spurs come to mind Melanie. Sporting shiny silver spurs on your favorite boots. Those'll deter immature, impatient, irritating, tater heads. ; )
Glad to here you didn't have to observe the dope bleeding in the street too.
You: White Ford cargo van northbound blowing the red light at 50+ mph on Route 83 at Shorewood Dr in Grayslake.
Me: Starting to cross with signal light westbound on Grayslake bike path/crosswalk.
Thank you for helping me get my heartrate up to 197 bpm. My personal best. If I hadn't heard you stomp on the gas to blow the red light my heartrate would now be 0 bpm. That pissed off look you shot at me, like it was my fault you almost killed me, was classic. Keep on blowing red lights, and soon I won't have to worry about you hitting me.
