Thought this was a neat atricle about tracking Hipsters and "fixies" across the country and some other interesting city cycling Comparisons. I am pretty sure the "Chico" on the charts are supposed to be Chicago, Just a guess.

Chicago is 43rd position of hipsterdom/fixie per capita (FPC) if you click on the link.

it doesn't seem to include any kind of look at the stolen bike market, which, though difficult to put fine numbers on, could likely be extrapolated from police data and online registries. not that i am in any way advocating the buying or selling of stolen bikes (perpetrators should be hung, like they used to do with horse thieves), but it is an important dynamic of what it means to be a bike populous city.

"Chico" refers to Chico, CA. Spent two weeks there one weekend long ago.

"Hanged"

Artwork on the walls or jackets in the closet are hung -men are hanged

Actually, I hear some men are hung.  Just sayin...

Touché!

Although, checking to see whether perpetrators are hung or not may be a civil right issue...

You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.

I'm confused about a mountainess area being a great place to ride fixies.

And Salt lake cities average price is $400!

I never found this particular style of fixed gear bike to be aesthetically pleasing. I guess it's still pretty popular out west.

Most people I know for some reason have switched over to single speed or multi-speed
