I'm planning to put moustache bars on a 1980 road bike.  I know most people put bar end shifters on these bars, but the bike has down tube friction shifters that I want to keep.  So, I have the option of putting reverse (time trial) brake levers on the bar ends.  I know this is not a new idea, so before I blast ahead I'd be interested to hear about any experience you've had with this setup.

Thanks in advance...

Make sure you double check in the inner diameter of your mustache bars. There are a few different models produced by different manufactures (Nitto, Origion 8, Soma, Nashbar) and they have variously different inner and outer diameters

I have reverse brake levers on mustache-like bars, and I love it. Thought it might be a little awkward at first, but my hands can't tell the difference :)
