I"m planning on doing RAGBRAI with a few friends (3 of whom did it last year).
If you can make it, show up to the bar night this Thursday, and I'm sure Martin and Evan would fill you in on ride details, etc.
just got notification that my group registration has been accepted and payment is being processed.
sweet!
Jon said:Fair warning though, RAGBRAI is majority 40-50 year olds partying like 18 year olds on spring break.
Ragbrai limits registration to 10,000 riders, but another 5,000- 10,000 people ride each day. I've done it the last two years. The best way to enhance your experience is to join a team. I rode with Team Fat Tire (Mike James) is one of the organizer. I think their were like three teams associated with Fat Tire Brewery last year so contact me privately if you want his e-mail. Other teams that I've heard are good are Team Kermit (small Chicago team of Cyclist with a slight drinking problem. They go 20+ miles and hour. Team Pedal Faster also cyclist. Team Brew Ha Ha and Fat Tire Brewery are really partiers with a biking problem.
Good Charter Companies Branson and Pork Belly. If you go with a charter they will automatically get you an official Ragbrai registration.
I've done it two years and will probably go with a charter company this next year like branson. I will drive down to the Eastern side of Iowa (end of the race) and the charter will take us to the start. Please let me know if you have additional questions.
