When does your health stop you from riding?
I rode today with a chest cold and cough. WOW, I could smell and taste the tar or whatever is out there on the streets of Chicago and my mouth burned most of the 4 miles each way.
I read somewhere that most people ride except when the issue is in your chest (or an injury I guess).
Anyone else?

Never too sick.
I once rode a full day of Ragbrai with the after effects of food poisoning from eating cajun catfish the night before. Soooooo damn sick; explosive out both ends which made the route extra adventurous. Made the entire day in good time and the fine folks of Bad Monkey fixed me up with Gatorade, rest and then healthy cranberry/vodka drinx on the pleasant shores of Clear Lake at one of the best beer gardens I can remember.
Funny, that cajun food vendor hasn't been on Ragbrai since.
I have to say whenever I am nauseous or have motion sickness it ALWAYS goes away the second I hop on my bike. Same thing if I am tired, as soon as I get on my bike I wake up.
This was weird though today. It was all these new yucky smells on Lincoln and Clark. It was like my cold had burned away some protective layer in my nose or something.
