Given my penchant for horrific weather, it does seem utterly possible that the world WILL end tomorrow, May 21, 2011.

If that is so, then there is literally no excuse on Earth that could serve as a good enough reason to not spend your last Earthly hours on a bike digging remnants of our great civilization amongst your friends on a pair of wheels.  And of course rain.

Get the skinny on the LAST EVENT ON EARTH here.

May we ride off together into that great Armageddon if it is to be, all the wiser that we also know a long list of people that died who are burried at Graceland Cemetery.  And if we do indeed survive this, in a bar afterwards waiting for the great bar tab up in the sky.

Cheers to you Earthlings.  Cheers.

Cool poster!

Your Tours have generated seasonable as well as unseasonable rain, sleet, snow and cold (sometimes simultaneously). Apocalyptic conflagration would be outdoing yourself.

On a related note, is the world supposed to end before or after the Tour of Lakeview?

I'm sorry!  No!  "Three days of darkness in 2011" doesn't fit the meter!  I think BK would agree.

Rock on.

Just out of curiosity, why did you choose Lakeview to be the last ride, and if you didn't know the world was going to end before you planned the ride, what ride would you rather have planned?

Not being much of a religious type, I was more or less ignorant about this latest Doomsday prediction until my trusty Doonesbury current events tumbler let me know about it.  In other words, I had no idea today was the last day on Earth until recently.  See below:

Doonesbury

As for last tour on Earth if I DID know, it would be the fixed-gear-all-uphill-double-century ride of the Damen Avenue bridge over and over again.
The Sisyphus ride!

I think we need at least 4 horses for this ride.

And the weather is looking particularly Armageddonish. (sp?)

You people don't know your mythology at all.

This is the RAPTURE -the ultimate in "cloud" computing.  Millions of ones and zeros are going into the cloud.

The 4 horsemen of the Apocalypse ride later after months of torment of the unbelievers.   Somewhere in between there are magic beans and a gingerbread house...
