The Chainlink

Hi, Im selling a late 80s or early 90's Eddy Merckx steel frame, lugged bike. I have converted this bike to be fixed gear but have the original Campagnolo record 7 speed components if you would like to trade the wheel set for indexed down tube shifters, derailleurs and brake set.
I had this bike professionally sandblasted and powdercoated by UV powder coating in Chicago. The finish is beautiful!! Metallic blue with a subtle gold sparkle clear coat. This color is almost identical to the original paint job but has a unique depth and durability that can only be achieved with powdercoating. This is not a typical powder coating job- this guy is an artist and it shows! I ordered a new decal set from Australia that perfectly matched the original decals including the chrome around the letters. I also polished all the original parts with a buffing wheel to get out the scratches and make them look brand new again. In the process I lost the logos on the crank and stem...Chainstays and campy dropouts are all chromed and in good condition. The headset and BB were both cleaned and repacked by a pro and are very smooth. All this work was completed last summer and the bike has basically been stored in my apartment ever since. This is a rare find- you have to see to believe! The only flaw is when I set the decal on the down tube, the letters are ever so slightly off center on one side. It is very minor- see pics. I made this bike for myself but sadly need to part with my baby.... Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Nic

You converted this to a fixed-gear??????? Let me catch my breath for a minute there.

All that time, money and effort to turn a great geared bike into a brakeless fixed gear...
