it looks like 50s (highs) and up from now on!

this weather >>>> mid-august weather

I do think different folks have different cold/hot thresholds.  I still gear up with a gaitor and gloves in this weather. I'm not complaining--just aware that I have to fend off the chill deeper in the season than, say, flip flop dude.  When others start to wilt in the 80's, that's when I am just starting to take my jacket off. Regardless, today I was loving the sun and green.

Lovin' that sunshine. I'm still unsure of how to dress appropriately. Yesterday, overheated. Today, kind too cold. I must be colder than most. I still have to wear a hat with ear flaps and a gaitor/gator. I saw a dude walking around in flip flops!

It was a very wet but overall nice ride this morning. I rode today in the kind of cold, nasty pounding rain and against some horrid headwind going southbound on Lincoln Avenue at 7:00- 7:45 am.  When I got to work, everyone stared at my soaking wet form and gaped in awe as I proudly rolled my bicycle inside the office.  I was soaking wet from the waist down (I hate rain pants) and probably looked like a drowned rat from the neck up. What was even better, after I dried off, changed clothes, and fixed my hair all in under 10 minutes, my co-workers seemed to be in awe at how well I could go from soaking wet biker to professional office worker so quickly.  I felt really good about that. It truly is a Good Friday for me!
Funny, despite how windy, cold and rainy and unprepared I was today, I knew the second I got to work i wouldn't even think about it....

Good for you Melanie and Julie.

As for me . . .

I...just...couldn't...do...it...

Spring, where are you???

Spring is coming, it is just around the corner, the rain today wasn't too cold and it at least felt more like a spring rain, rather than freezing rain. I think the saying goes April showers bring May flowers...and bikers.

You are one heck of a cheerleader. Calling this cold, near freezing rain "spring rain" requires an unbridled optimism on your part ;)

I rode in this morning and let me tell you, it sucked. I got thoroughly wet and cold. I didn't like it one bit. But then again, it how I get to work.

I'm motivated by Melanie's post today, but not enough to ride in it.

I did, however, do a little spring blog entry. I hope you won't mind the gratuitous photos of my niece.

I've played golf in worse weather than this.

I thought it was just a sprinkle when I left home this morning wearing regular work clothes.  I'm still sitting in my damp pants.  Luckily I had an extra shirt at work from the last time I got drenched with rain, so at least I'm not completely miserable.

I saw David606xx from a distance, but I didn't have the will to go faster to catch up.  I'm really looking forward to some more pleasant weather soon.

You could be quite "smug" (ref: Bikesnobnyc lexicon) in this weather if you invested in some Gore Tex or other water-repellent treated fabric;)
