The Chainlink

1) You put on your jeans and they already have the right leg rolled up.

2) You do laundry when you don't have any more clean bike shorts.

On every gorgeous day all you want to do is be out on a long ride..... not cleaning, working or anything else for that matter.
Absolutely, no name and no phone #, lol.

I think that may be a sign of a whole other set of problems...

you wake up with a mini u-lock around your left ankle to a fence outside of Home Depot with your pants pulled down and a thank you note taped to your forehead.

Tank-Ridin' Ryan,

Ha!  I wish. I work the usual M-F.  I meant that every day you ride feels like Friday.   My friend Lisa called it a "rider's high."  Which I think is very apt description.

Every day feels like Friday to you?  I either want to know your secret or feel sorry for you that the weekend is perpetually around the corner.

My secret is to enjoy every moment of every day as much as possible, especially the moments when you are riding. I guess I'm not describing it well enough, but you know that wonderful feeling you get during a critical mass, or another group ride--the happy Friday glow?  That's what I mean.  Riding to/from work, the grocery store, a bar to meet friends, I try to just enjoy it--feel the happy Friday glow every time I'm on my bike.

ah good replies, good discussion topic. how about

it's raining out and you tell yourself you're only going to ride to the bus stop/train station to get to your destination but then once on the bike you say f**k it and ride the entire way, trying to convince yourself the rain's not that bad even though it is and each time you do this, decide to ride, you get sufficiently wet and your shoes get soaked and actually the ride kind of sucks each time for the stress and the chill and you probably hit a pothole that was filled with water at some point which further pis*es you off and so you finally show up at your destination and your friend(s) or coworkers or whomever you're there to see or meet, unless they're bikers, they just look at you almost out of pity, that bemused look.  in your mind, you're still riding through the rain.  and when you're done for the day/night, you know you'll ride home in it too.

great post!

+1

Add to RT's post about scotch guarding rain pants knowing it wont work but hoping that it will (if just a little bit.).

It took me a year to realize that the moisture under my rain pants wasn't from the outside but rather condensation from the inside.

You know where the flags are on your route so you can check the wind direction and speed.
Ha, very true.  I always check the flag on the post office at the start of my ride home.
you already look hot in short skirts because you've been biking all winter!
