Gas will go over $4.50 a gal. and you will see people from all walks of life getting on a bike and riding

Ill cross my fingers on the gas hike fallowed by more cyclists. My guess how ever goes beyond 2011. Its a new decade... The fg/ss hipster bike will come to an end and either replaced by bmx bikes, freak bikes, or cargo bikes.

Iv seen a couple hipsters riding around my area with tall bikes and one chopper.

As for the ordinary; that person needs a disc wheel on back with something like a boob on it. :-)

The PF bike needs deep V rims  front and rear (or maybe even an Aero wheel up front).  The back wheel has to be another and different bright color like orange or pink. Perhaps they need custom paint.   Sew-up tubulars around both -naturally.

Campy parts everywhere, and bullhorn handlebars (no tape!) are needed. Clip-less pedals would be de rigueur -unless the rider is a complete wuss and wants everyone else to know!

I can just imagine someone with a disc on the big wheel... cross winds would become you biggest enemy; next to the suv's and posers obviously.

I'm starting to see these.

A true hipster would have a white Aerospoke front wheel, and no rear wheel on this thing. Just like brakes on a normal bike, you cant be truly tard-core with a back wheel on a PF. Plus imagine how spectacular your skids would be at night.

This Looks Shopped.

We need to see more of these.

There's a guy cruising around Humboldt park in the summer with  a stereo set up you can hear for a few hundred feet.

I think its gonna be all about the classic road bikes, i.e. 70s schwinn letour - with cruiser style handlebars... the best of both worlds.

2011 fads:

- cruiser bars

- single chain rings

- baskets; crates; paniers

- no more than 6 gears
