I'm sick. I came down with a cold on Monday night. It's not a terrible cold, but it kept me up throughout the night and it's keeping me from going roller skating tonight (dang!)  I need to rest because I have tons o' stuff planned this weekend.

I have been on the fence about riding my bike today. I feel like I shouldn't because I'm sickie. Then again, I feel like if I don't, I'll be setting up a pattern of bike winter failure! I did go out at 9 a.m. for a short ride to a client's house. I'd planned to stop at the co-op afterward, but I felt like crap.

What should I do? Is this the day that tips the scale and makes me no longer ride in the winter? I always feel like once something is a habit, it sticks! I'd hate to break my habit. I've been doing so well.

I've been sick for over a week and just didn't ride. I used to get mad or bummed but then I realized it's not a competition, it's only for me. I went out yesterday and realized for me, the weather made this cold worse. Just know your limits and push them only when you can!
I'm trying to treat it more like a personal challenge rather than a competition. Now, I feel like being a lump on the couch for the rest of the night won't make me feel so guilty. I have a lot of things I should be doing and would if I wasn't sick. The vintage clothes aren't going to sell themselves.
Biking was the least of my concerns, but I am glad to be over a minor hurdle today.

Rhea--I agree--it's bad to push your limits and only end up in worse shape. I'm thinking I'll be fine. This is one of those week longers, I can tell.

Bee pollen capsules smell really weird. I can hardly wait to burp.
there's another way to introduce propolis into the vascular system and that would be to drink it directly through the skin. i wouldn't suggest using an alcohol extract though because it is an anhydrous agent, drying and otherwise damaging the skin.

it's not easy but certain resinous substances may be suspended in a combination of nut oils for a healthier delivery method. the combination would also impart emollient support for much healthier skin while loading it up with vitamins.

re: pollen... sorry but our bodies really can't metabolize pollen because it has a sturdy mantle... but honey has a minute amount of hydrogen peroxide which makes it possible to get past this outer shell. by mixing two parts honey to one part pollen one can create a beebread which now can be digested... 'cause this is how the bees do it.
Oh no....are you saying that these capsules are not going to do anything? They sell a few forms of propolis at the store. They had jars of it that were filled with little dried pellets. Another form was available in a bottle with an eyedropper. Is that what you'd put in tea? The woman at the store doesn't speak English very well, so I wasn't sure what to get. She suggested the Bee's Winter Defense.

Spot on advice. Each person has their own strength and are stronger,or more comfortable doing one thing better than something.I can bike in really cold weather, but if it is cold with rain.I take a pass on it.I HATE cold and rain.Hope you feel better.
Opting for the car today...boo. I just don't feel well. Maybe tomorrow. It's supposed to be really warm, right?
If you're too sick, you're too sick. Plenty of other days await. Hope you feel better soon.
