Ahh, I see the Chainlink is developing it's commercial business model nicely.
Hey why not. It does support a local cyclist. If she had a store front and you knew she was a Chainlinker wouldn't it be easier to support her then? Why not here?
Why does it matter to me if a business owner "is a Chainlinker"? Why does that mean I should favor doing business with her?

So this woman is on a social network for cyclists -- does that mean that she's dedicated to cycling and the overall bike movement in Chicago? Being on Chainlink is easy -- anyone can join. Therefore, I hardly put value in the "Chainlink" badge.

Further, if her business actually had something to do with bikes, I would welcome it's place somewhere in the Chainlink world (and other on-line bike avenues). But from the looks of this woman's post and her picture postcard, I see no relation to bicycling. Should I start selling dog toys via Chainlink?
Your angst is really unnecessary. I got the suggestion to post on here from other Chainlinkers, and thought- why not then? And it is clearly marked in the 'not bike related' category. So eat it. :)
Sarah, why not try being a mature person by responding non-emotionally to my specific criticisms instead of retorting with a 6th-grader mentality? You have made no case for why your non-bike-related business belongs being marketed on Chainlink. So, I ask again, should I start selling dog toys on Chainlink? Take a deep breath and try harder in your next response; I think it could serve us both better than immature bathroom stall one-liners.

Also, the definition of "angst" is: a feeling of dread, anxiety, or anguish. I feel none of these. Criticism is not synonymous for "angst", so don't confuse them.
My initial criticism, to clarify, was directed at the creators/owners/moderators of the Chainlink for allowing a commercial non-bike post like Sarah's to show-up on front-and-center on the homepage forum. Perhaps this is just a design flaw with the Ninq platform, but still, posts like these are really just weeds in the garden of actual Chicago bike community discussion. Consider this: what if 10 or 20 or 30 more posts like Sarah's started showing up weekly on the homepage of the Chainlink. How could mass-marketing non-bike-related businesses really be serving the greater bike community needs?
Id rather my money go to someone local then a big box store. Id also have it go to someone who rides a bicycle then someone who drove a car all the time...

and since i have seen Sarah's icon photo for a while now and in multiple locations on this sight, I am convinced she isn't just using the chainlink as another ad opportunity. plus... it does in fact say "Not bike related." if personal advertising ever became an issues then im sure Leah would say something. but its not so why create such an issue out of it?

Get off your high horse. You're a poet who doesn't even know the difference between "its" and "it's" so your corrections are pretty meaningless.

If I found a piece of your poetry while out on a ride, the only reason I wouldn't blow my nose in it is because I knew you were on the Chainlink.

Quit being so pretentious (adj.) 2. characterized by assumption of dignity or importance.

Incidentally, I'd really look forward to riding even more often if I thought I might see someone wearing one of these whimsical, vibrant dresses. Perhaps it's not as off-topic as you believe.

wow! you really need to get off it. we all support each others endeavours... be it our creativity, our performance, our activism. A lot of us know Sarah and it's nice to see what she is putting out there. I know for a fact those dresses are created with the intention of fellow female cyclist to wear and ride in them comfortably.
Wow!! that is all I have to say.. Terrible.. just terrible. Remind me to never ask you for support on any level thru the bike community.
