So right down from my house this afternoon was a bike leaning against the bike rack, not locked up. It was still there, and still unlocked, almost 2.5 hours later when I got back. I asked in each of the businesses that are right there and no one knew anything about it. So... I grabbed it and put a note on the bike post with my number on it. No one has called so here I am posting it to Craigslist....

It's a white schwinn converted fixed gear with a black fork. It has some distinguishing features.

Admittedly it's probably not the wisest thing to have done. Either it's a misplaced machine, or some thief who couldn't figure out how to ride it finally ditched it (brakeless/fixed gear/and it looks like the toeclips are pretty smashed from someone standing on them). And if it wasn't stolen surely it's only because no one had noticed it wasn't locked up. What if someone left their car running with the doors wide open for three hours on the street? Well then I guess you'd call the cops... but this is a bicycle... doubt the cops would do anything to return it to the owner.
