Bicycle posters have a rich history, going back to the 1870’s.  Show us your favorite bicycle-related posters from then and now – what’s on your walls; the best you’ve ever seen; the poster you have to get.

me and the girlfriend couldn't resist but to get a massive Cycles Gladiator poster for our room :)

my girlfriend actually looks like the girl in the poster but with short hair

This is another fav of mine though...

I'd love a copy of this on my wall.

Is it irony that they probably don't have 20th Century Fox's consent to use Bart Simposon?
My own copy of the 1896 Chicago Bicycle Map, acquired as part of my ATA-membership renewal, framed (and now hanging in our den)

in the early days of the Tour ... they thought menthol cigarettes were good for them (it cleared up the breathing tubes)

I got this by renewing my membership at the Winter Bike Swap at Jack's. They had a limited number of prints available. We got a standard frame with two custom mats at Jo-Ann's and my wife put it together.

They do have sometimes good deals. I remember a few years ago, where renewing your membership got you into the (now defunct) Chicago Bike Show for free. An $8 savings.
You just have to be prepared to jump on it

Spencer,
This one is absolutely awesome. Did you make that on a computer and then print it on canvas?

Duppie's Chicago Bicycle Map from 1898 has generated quite a few comments. It was published by a Chicago businessman, A.M. Askevold.

Bicycling was big business in Chicago by the time the map was published. The Chicago Bicycle Exhibition which opened on a snowy day in January, 1896 had 10,000 visitors, looking at 250 different company exhibits, worth an estimated 1 million dollars. 10 million dollars in orders were placed at the show. My understanding is that Askevold's map was a reaction to the show.

This map may not be currently available, but if you want to take a look, here is the link: http://www.lib.uchicago.edu/e/su/maps/chi1890/G4104-C6E63-1898-A2.html

Also, there is a page that shows a small section of the 1898 map, and uses the 2001 Biking map as an overlay. To see this go to: http://hannahwinkle.com/ccm/maps.htm

Thanks, Duppie
