MY BIKE WAS REMOVED FOR CONSTRUCTION WITH NO WARNING. WHERE IS MY BIKE?!

My lovely hybrid was locked to a sign post for about six hours on Broadway and Sunnyside.  When I returned the street was torn up completely.  The alderman wants nothing to do with me.  How do I find my bike?

Call 311. They did the same with my car a couple years ago. Had to take a cab and go up and down a few blocks. Not sure what to do when its a bike!

Is the stolen bike registry a lost cause if I don't know the serial number?
