So...who wants in? and when do yas wanna go?  Popular vote wins.

And just to be clear...i am simply making a play on the name of the park.  This is not a drug oriented event. Ya dig?

I'm interested, but the first weekend I'm available is 8/14.
I say we do July 17/18. I don't think we should wait any longer than that. Especially if we want to get more camping trips in this year before it gets cold.
Paul and I can go the weekend of July 10th or 30th. :)
Ok, Paul and I have decided we are Definitely going on July 31st/August 1st. That's the first weekend we have available, and we want to do some camping!! Anyone else interested in that weekend? :)
Hmm..yeah, I like the idea but A) would make me feel REALLY young and B) wouldn't help my hip crapola going on. But I did get the shot today, let's see if that helps!

I can also go that weekend, but I'll be continuing for my first longer distance tour for the entire following week. If anyone wants to try part of that, let me know!

Just found this:
Bong Park is extremely high in paranormal activity, as is most areas where you find underground tunnel systems and ancient mound works. Spectral lights are witnessed in the woods northeast of the dog trail area. Many have witnessed UFO sightings in this area. There is also cultist activity here in the northeastern section of the park . This would be in the ‘no vehicle zone’ off of existing trails in the wooded area off of old Hwy 75. This is the second most dangerous part of Bong Park.
The most dangerous section is the fully intact but sealed underground tunnels. We have heard many stories of paranormal activity here such as manifestations of spirits, strange mists, unidentifiable noises and strange lights. Access to the system is strictly forbidden by Federal Laws. I am now working with a client that may have experienced multiple abductions from this area. Our investigation of this area is still ongoing.
Take the blue trail from the beach and head to the S.E. side of the lake, by the big oaks and the huge gully. Talk about a powerful place, Same with Vista picnic look-out area!

This google map has all kinds of Wisconsin Paranormal activity:

i like that for halloween. it just so happens that haloween is on a weekend, and there is a full moon the previous weekend.

i have a feeling a bunch of people will have halloween parties they wanna go to, but haloween camping...i dunno...that could be one HELL of a party!! especially with 'cultish activity' in the area.

Sounds like a good destination for a Halloween ride.

Oh, there are tons of "haunted" spots that we could try for Halloween. Maybe Starved Rock would be a good spot for that: http://occultview.com/2009/02/06/the-ghosts-of-starved-rock/

Did folks decide on a weekend for the Bong Ride? I'm definitely going somewhere on July 31/Aug 1.

And 24th is out, but that doesn't affect anything discussed so far.

I'm in. I _think_ any weekend is fine except the upcoming one and of course the weekend of the 4th.
So far the 17/18th is wining the popular vote.

I wish I could meet you guys on the 17/18 July trip. I have plans that I don't think I can change (and some gear purchasing to do.) I'm from Wisconsin and have driven by the Bong Rec sign 19763 times in my life. I have never been there! If the dates for the Bong Hits trip should change, I want to go for sure.
