Trying to find some information on the Brampton flip-flop hub. I have an early sixties austrian built J.C. HIggins road bike.The only info I can find is that these hubs used to come on raleigh grand prix. Any info would be Helpful!

Can't tell you much about your Brampton flip-flop, but I can tell you that Brampton was component maker in the UK probably until the sixties. They made pedals, headsets, bottom brackets, hubs, and their own 3 speed hub. They were quite popular in the UK between the wars and into the early fifties. You can see some off their product here.

I had a late thirties Modern Cycles 'Stratos' that was fitted with Brampton hubs and pedals. The rear hub was fixed-fixed.

There was also a French Brampton company that made chains, cranks, and chains. Their stuff is really hard to find.
