Howard,

I'd give Blue City a call to check on their prices. I recently picked up 8' feet of both brake and shifter housing (they're different diameters) from The Pony Shop in Evanston for $1/foot. Performance and Turin both sell it for $2/foot.

You can buy brake and shifter housing in pretty much any length you want. You just need to cut it to needed lengths, reopen the cut ends with some kind of poking tool, and file the roughness off the end. Ferrules (the silver end caps) can be reused sometimes, but having some on hand wouldn't hurt.

What Ryan says, plus, take your old cablehousing to the store. The store can cut it to the exact same length for you. A shop worth it's salt will finish the ends for you

Prices vary a little bit depending on the quality you're looking for

Ciclo Urbano can furnish you with all the cable and housing you would need to complete the repairs in an open shop.

I'm planning on reusing the old ones. I've never had a need to buy ferrules in the past, but I'm sure they can be had for cheap if the shop doesn't just give you some.

Yea, I'm sure they can. They are a shop like any other. I'm sure the open shop would be quite willing to show you how to also. I know they have all the stuff since I've done it dozens of times. They have a neat hand crank grinder in the back now also. :)
