Free shoes from Chrome. Expires tomorrow 3/18/2010. Is this legit?

Hey everyone,

I saw on two blogs that Chrome is giving away free shoes if you send in some old ones. Your package has to be postmarked 3/18.

This is either a prank or a kickass promo. I think their shoes look like fancy Chucks but what the heck I'd wear 'em.

It looks legit. The chrome twitter feed mentions it so it's probably valid.

thanks Michael, I fixed it just as you were posting.

From another blog, I gleaned that the Chrome Kursk shoes run on the narrow side.
I ordered a pair of Chrome shoes today, right before I heard of the trade in. Sad, but I still got the choose the shoe and color I wanted. I'm still debating if I should send in an old pair first thing tomorrow. Second pair of shoes couldn't hurt. :)
You couldn't cancel the order and resubmit?

Since I assume they did this to get the word out about their shoes, I'll do a bit of word getting out. Haven't gone for a long ride with them, but they feel really good and look reasonably sharp, like fancy Chuck Taylors with stiff soles. For what it's worth they definitely 'transmit more power' than my Sambas, though if that sort of thing worries you you should be wearing clipless anyway. They're made of cordura, so I'm guessing that if you wear these on a bike with fenders your feet will be dry even in a pretty nasty rain, and have a lot of nice little details, like a strap on the tongue for your lace ends and little reflective tabs on the heels. I don't know that they'd be my first choice if I wanted a pair of sneakers but they're definitely nice, practical shoes, and worth a look if you ride platforms.
I just received my shoes last Thursday, I gave them my old chucks. This deal was totally legit and the shoes are pretty amazing.
I also got mine in exchange for an old, beat-up pair of high-top Chucks. Good cycling shoes with a nice, stiff red sole--but the very long, metal-tipped laces should be kept FAR away from the drive-chain. Be sure to strap them in. Nicely reinforced heel in case you get hit from behind by your own pedal. Skid-resistant rubber in case you have to stop Fred Flinstone-style on your brakeless fixed-gear.
It was the real deal. Got mine last week in the exchange. Sadly, my new shoes are too small SO if anyone reading this partook in the exchange and needs to swap a size 11.5 for a 10.5, let me know.
