The Chainlink

Someone harvested about 5 wheels from the pub ride tonight!
One of which was mine!
I'm pissed, I'm sure the others with missing wheels are pissed, and you're probably pissed if you're reading this!
It's bullshit and I know wheels are hard to get back, but the least we can do is try.
The flea market and craigslist are the places to look!
If anyone hears anything let us know!
I had a rear white velocity deep V with 17 and 19 tooth cogs on either side.
If you lost your wheel let me know the description.
I have people who will be scouring the flea markets this weekend.
All we can do is try!

were these bolted on wheels which were lifted using a wrench?
Damn that sucks! Any locks on those wheels?
Nah, they basically took anything that wasn't locked in...
instead of a designated driver you need a disignated observer for you rides...curt
That really sucks. Were these bolted or quick release wheels? Do wheels have any kind of serial number to affirmatively identify them? I'll have to finish installing my locking skewers this weekend.
I am also curious. They took bolted on wheels? Crazy.
From where exactly were they stolen? I want to post a bit on this on my blog. Thanks.
A coworker had his bolt on wheels stolen last year. They were pretty unique looking and he saw a bike messenger with his wheel a few days later, but wasn't fast enough to catch up.

Later he found his wheel locked up behind the Thomspon Center, he says it's a stolen bike parts mecca. (He knows it was his because he etches his initials on everything. ) So, maybe it's around there
I even had a chain tensioner on my wheel!
They were stolen from next to El Mamey Lounge on North ave and Talman.
There were no bike racks, so all the bikes were locked to the gates and everyone whos bike was on the inside had their shit taken.
yeah thats a great idea, like do a check every half an hour. Sucks I missed them considering how much I smoke when I drink. They must have been fast.

I was one of the unfortunate whom had his front wheel stolen as well. It was bolted on. They also tried to get My my rear wheel but I have two MKS chain tensioners and they either couldn't get them off or were working on it and got scared off. Either way the tugs saved my rear wheel.

I had a White Weinmann DP18 machined front wheel with silver spokes and red spoke nipples. The rim was scratched up a bit. The tire on it was a red Victoria Pro. I doubt there are many while rims with red spoke nipples out there in stolen bike parts land.

If there had been a proper place to lock up I would have done the usual lock through the front wheel and frame to rack with a cable through the rear. We need more fucking bike racks in this city. I'm so pissed I can't ride this bike till I replace the wheel. Not sure I'm gonna find what I need online and will probably need to build it myself which means the bike is out of commission for a while. So bummed :(
