This is discussed frequently among bikers so it's nothing new but it is probably the most well done attempt at explaining the process to a general public that I have seen.

Human Batteries is an interactive movie that discuses the harvesting of excess human energy for everyday use. Discover solutions on how our own energy can save time and natural resources. Watch as Mark, Danya, and their baby Corbin, have life changing results when these infantile technologies are made available. Motion, heat, and bio-nano activities are recycled for electronic use. One of my favorite companies is Enocean. All of the devices they make require no connection to the grid and no batteries. They are all self-powered through some form of energy conversion.

My favorite is a wireless remotes control that is powered by the energy required to push the button.
