Bring your bike, ride/walk in Chicago's St. Patrick's Day Parade Sat 3/13

Ever want to be in a parade? Well, now is your opportunity to participate in a nationally televised parade.

Bring your bike and join the Illinois Green Party at the St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday March 13, 2010, starting at noon on Columbus Drive in Chicago.  To support cycling, the ILGP will not have a float or big truck or car, and wants to have people with bikes walking or riding along. If you want to march or help the Green Party see message below.

Chicago's 55th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade will be a little bit Greener than years past, but the Green Party needs your enthusiasm to paint Chicago a different shade of politics! The Whitney for Governor campaign will need festive parade marchers and canvassers to greet hundreds of folks. To participate in the parade, please contact Rebecca Reynolds: c (224) 623-1491 rebecca@jeremykarpen.org

The Green Party is more than environmentalist that support cycling and public transit - they're by the people and for the people, no corporate or Machine strings attached.

Hmmm, anyone considering do this?
Ok, ok. Here's the scoop - if you want to participate, you have to contact Rebecca, and give her your name so you will be on the official list of participants.

Also, there will be COMPENSATION for people that have trailers and/or rikshaw/pedicab bicycles!!

Sign up now, no cost and your chance to be on teevee.

PS - per the ofishul meeting tonight, no alcohol IN the parade... and they advised keep it out of sight or covered if you're in the crowd.

So, whatcha waiting for?!
Yep - it's in Chicago, on Columbus Drive (by Buckingham Fountain). I updated the original post.
Thx for the heads up, I though the S.Side parade was canceled.

Let's put it this way - I'm an ex-Democrat, and am now a member of the Illinois Green Party. So, I'm doing what I can to tell people there's a 3rd official political party in Illinois. It's gaining a lot of momentum, with lots of ex-Dems signing up, so I see it as the future.

Check out the website for more info if you're interested. http://www.ILGP.org
