I'm ready to order!
sign me up for 4.
It sounds really awesome. I think it would undoubtedly help get more people out on their bikes... at least those with big enough wallets.

I'd be afraid to think about what it would cost to repair one of those things though. I don't picture it being an at home diy'er for the average person either.

all the same, awesome thinking
"...will make biking a realistic option again."

Hurray, we'll all be able to ride bikes now.
What I really want is that Mercedes S400 Hybrid with a list price over $100,000 that they showed in the ad preceding the video.
Oh, the irony
I think that's a good point. I'm assuming it would be as fully enclosed and durable as the sturmey-archer hubs that come on Dutch bikes. In other words, it would probably not require as much regular maintenance as a derailleur.

I also wonder when the motor kicks in. It seems like using the motor to start from a complete stop would not be as efficient use of the batteries as turning it on as part of a climb.

My prayers have been answered! I've always said to myself while riding, "Riding would be so much better if my bike was an extension of my cell phone!(which is usually off)" Now, all I have to say is please rob me.
