TheCycleStudio is looking for your feedback/advice/opinions or suggestions about running 90-minute cycling classes focusing on building rider's endurance.

The sessions would be offered one day a week for a 4-week period, every month. As stated before these classes will focus on building rider's endurance, verses a standard indoor cycling classes workout that deals with traditional "spinning" related routines (ie. jumps, climbs, etc.).

We have had a few requests from our outdoor riders about this style of class and we want to get a feel for how many people think this is a good or bad idea.

*We are aware that quite a few riders don't care for indoor cycling and only like to ride outside year round. We have nothing against those riders, however we are looking to give other riders a place to continue their riding during the winter months.

Hi, I am quite interested, as I maybe going on a two day long ride for a charity cause this summer. What day/times are these offered. Thanks. Sorry I responded without fully checking it out, but this seems to be exactly what I may be needing for my Summer long ride preparation.
The 90 minute rides are to help riders build up their endurance in order to take on the full outdoor riding. We are suggesting that this workout will replace or duplicate your outdoor training. During the winter it is hard for some people to get outside and train, and therefore we want to provide another option for cyclists.

I personally think that no spinning environment can fully prepare you for outdoor riding. Best way to get ready for any extended ride is to actually get out there and do extended rides instead of trying to cram it into a 90 minute workout. Also IMHO there is a certain benefit to be had from having a few months of light riding which can be easily duplicated with a trainer, it let's the body recover and properly rest.

I am messaging those who mentioned they were interested, however I was unable to send a message to some users. Therefore I wanted to update the thread for everyone reminding you about our special 90-minute endurance classes starting this Sunday (2/28/10). We hope you can all make it, as we will only be able to offer this class if we have enough attendance. Below is some additional information about the class, our studio, and how to go about reserving a bike for classes.

- The 90-Minute Endurance classes will start this Sunday (February 28th, 2010) at 12:00p.m.

- We suggest reserving your bike online for a couple of reasons. First to ensure you have a bike for the class, as we only have 20 cycles. Secondly, it will save some time registering if this is your first time to the studio. Click Here to learn more about our reservation system and to reserve your bike.

- 90-Minute Endurance Classes are $15.00 per class. Depending on how many times you plan on visiting the studio for endurance classes or our traditional cycling classes, it may be more cost-effective to purchase a multi-ride package (5-Rides for $45.00, 10 Rides for $105.00 or A Monthly Unlimited Ride Pass for $50.00).

- TheCycleStudio will be open :30 minutes prior to class for riders to check in and set up their bike.

- The studio is located at 1921 N. Harlem Ave. in Chicago (right under the red awnings).

Hopefully this helped to clear up any questions you have. Nevertheless if there is anything unclear or something we did not mention please feel free to contact us back. We look forward to meeting everyone, and invite you to try one of our regular classes for free. Just visit our website and print the free class coupon.
Thanks to everyone who had been coming out for our 90 minute sessions. We have had a decent turn out for the classes and decided to give it an extended trial period. As requested by many participants, the extended trail will run every Sunday at 10am through the month of April (excluding 4.4.10).
