The Chainlink

Hey all,

I recently had my 1986 Trek 310 Elance stolen.  It wasnt anything special, but i loved it.  I've been monitoring craigslist/ebay as a last-ditch effort. A SIMILAR 310 can been seen at this link:  http://velospace.org/files/310Elance1.jpg

my frame was identical to this, however my bike had black  Specialized Aero drops and a neon blue/gray Trek seat.  It sticks out like a sore thumb.

If anyone comes across this somehow or notices something similar for sale, please let me know.  Ill offer a $50 reward if it is located.  It was stolen from the area near Ashland Ave and Blackhawk in Wicker Park.

Thanks to everyone in advance.

Best,
G

ugh. Sorry to hear about this G.

Bike theft should be considered a crime against the planet.

What size is your frame? This is a graceless moment to mention it and this is probably not the kind of help you are asking for, but I'm thinking about selling my early 80's Trek 500. I'm not sure how large it is, but it is somewhere around 62cm. PM me if you are interested.
....sending positive bike recovery vibes your way dude.....

hang in there : I know this is one of the suckiest feelings ever.

my bikes are my family...

hey guys, thanks for the support! it's a pretty crumby situation for anyone to have their bike jacked. I'm not sure when i am going to get another one. Ill have to build or acquire something in the next couple of months, though, or else ill start to lose my mind in nicer weather...

Tony, thanks for the offer, i appreciate you letting me know. Ill keep it in mind and PM you if i decide to move on getting a new bike.
hang in there. be sure to do all the usual checking : local pawn shops, the flea market, and craigslist (check Milwaukee and Indiana too)

Sorry to hear that Garrett. Have you posted a report to the Stolen Bike Registry?
