Pipe down. You didnt have to write a NYT column to express your perception of my written material.
It's just a view, an opinion, nothing more.
Really. Lets focus on the point or main idea of this thread.......Would you like group up with other riders to ride through the metro?
Other reasons being wear tight pants and a beard, perhaps flannel?

Funny, based on your first few posts I thought the point was you where an elitist prick...
Please tell me what exactly is a 'real' cyclist.
I am anxious to hear this.

Blue baron,
Another day, anther forum, and I might have called you a troll.
However, on this dreary day you are providing me with much needed humor. Please, don't stop posting!
Frank
PS. Anyone responded to your request yet?
I have a prick, but I am not a prick.

I pretty much stopped riding my fixed gear bicycle when I started living in the suburbs. I use it for short trips and when going into urban areas, but that's about it. The suburbs are too spread out and not stop-and-go enough for fixed riding, I ride a touring frame bike here, mostly.
...And I think I might be a hipster, but I also think I'm really just mostly Sam. How can I find out? Is there a blood test I can take or anything? I was in a grindcore band 6 years ago (seriously), does that mean anything? Also, I wonder if I'm a real rider, or, for that matter, I wonder if I'm real at all. Are my legs really attached to my torso and feet, turning my crank over and over, counter clockwise unless I'm going backwards on the fixie, or is this just one of Michel Foucault's theoretical worlds?
:)
No, you're a prick.
You came on here and, in a post asking people to come ride with you, insulted a solid 3rd of the people who ride bikes in our fair city.
We won't even get into the level of personal offense the concept of 'real' riders and your general elitist moron attitude have ginned up in myself.
People like you are why there are factions in the cycling world; why do you need to only meet and ride with fixed gear or SS riders? Why not just look for people to ride bikes with putting aside the concept of shoving people into categories...

I like riding bikes with anyone who'll ride with me.
