Well - that's a great idea!
Well put together design for touring: http://www.midgetcampers.com.au/bushtrekka.htm

where?
Apparently to the trailer, or so it would appear.

HAHAHHHAHA! There's something just hilarious about seeing a box moving along seemingly by itself.

Great, now I want the midget bushtrekka! Could ya imagine the looks ya would get when ya pull into a R.V. Park with that rig...
Oh man! I want one of those bad boys.
Good thread, Iggy!

I took a gander at the Bushtrekka, and I agree it's pretty cool!!!

But now that I have a few hundred miles on my Burley Nomad trailer, I'm wondering how practical the Bushtrekka would actually be.

The Nomad weighs 15 pounds, and probably upward of 50 pounds when loaded with camping gear. The Bushtrekka weighs 55 pounds empty, so presumably it would weigh 80lbs when loaded with gear (I'm figuring since the Bushtrekka negates the need for a tent, the Burley's cargo would equal 35 pounds and the Bushtrekka's cargo would be 25 pounds).

Also, the Bushtrekka has four wheels while the Burley has two (and the BOB has one).

So between the increased weight and additional rolling resistance, I don't think the Bushtrekka would be much fun to tow. You'd probably be limited to 50, maybe 60 miles per day. And if you are going any place mountainous, you'd need some crazy low gears or else you'll be walking uphill.

But again, I think it's a really cool design, and I'm really starting to get into the idea of self contained bike travel.
