We have a few threads here and there with introductions, but nothing organized. For this thread, post your picture, pics of your bikes, and a small blurb about yourself (favorite foods, commuting routes, etc).

But I like my boots...

I built it at my shop in Carol Stream and finished it at West Town.

Stop wearing steel toes foo.. Unless your riding to a boot party.. he he

Boots either way, steel or not can be an issue.. I have it during the winter with my boots.. My problem with clips mainly is my shoe size, being 14 or 15 depending on brand.. Pedal size helps too, bigger platforms better then smaller.. I merely suggested cause I see you riding a SS/Fixed, and while fixed should always have clips, SS should for things like rain from my experience of not having them. It's way to easy to slip off the pedals.

Where'd you build your bike?

I wear steel toes 96% of the time so clips don;t work well for me, that's why I have a brake.

The chain on the tall actually just worked out, I got lucky.

Put some toe clips on that Fixed/SS DUG.. Nice work on the chain for the tallbike.. Did you use a half link, or did the chain fit just right? Fortunately on one of mine, the chain fit just right. Before my steerer weld broke anyway.
I'm Will. This is me in between two hotties (actually two of my best friends!)...

I have three bikes. This is my Cannondale Touring 1...

My current favorite is my new (to me) Jamis Sputnik, outfitted with bull bars, Campy Centaur brake, and Selle An-Atomica saddle.

And my profile pic is me saluting with my Swobo Novak.

I'm a web programmer/project manager type and live in West Loop.
Hi everyone, my name is Pat and I'm a bikeaholic.
This is me, captaining an old boat on the lakes of Northwoods WI.

My road bike new to me in April (and I absolutely love it!). You can find me along the lakefront mostly, but unfortunately I'll be limited to a living room on a trainer entirely too soon.

My old bike that has many thousand miles of abuse. I bought it in 7th grade and finally reached a point where I could out-ride it (couldn't go fast enough for the workout I wanted)

Still a good commuter to the bars at night.
About me:
I will never again be involved in a project as cool as this:

That's a solar powered car capable of about 85mph. Runs 65mph all day on the sun alone. I fabricated most of the solar array while spending entirely too many hours in a lab and entirely too few in class and/or drinking.

Another amusing interests:

Hi, my name is Rich. I live on 18th and Damen. I ride a single speed (free wheel) converted Motobecane Nomade from the '70's (sorry, I have no pics). It has Vuelta ERPS rims laced to Vuelta hubs (I'm looking to upgrade to something a little lighter). I trade soybean meal options at the Board of Trade. I like eating, cooking, sailing, tailgating for the Bears, and enjoying life in general. I am learning how work on bikes and just finished my first single speed conversion. I am working on my second right now.
This is me during Mullet and Mustache March. I rock a shaved head and no facial hair, now.

I'm not sure if I have a favorite commuting route.
Hi, I am Aaron and I am new to biking in the city....is it scary riding on the streets?

I almost forgot a picture of my baby 'Gerdy' a GT Gutterball I ride freewheel. I also ride a Dahon Speed 7 'Deedra' and a GT Talera that pulls my trailer - 'George'.

Hello every one! I'm Glen and I ride this:

A late 70's Motobecane Super Mirage with original components(One of a few good steads...)
My interests are reading, sleeping, Ren faires and adventure! If I had say I would make it law that everyone gather for lunch, for a community picnic. I spend most my life outside and I would more then love to meet you!!!
I am fairly new to riding around Chicago, and when I started, I was terrified, but I got over it quickly. Most of the time it's not scary at all, and quite nice, but there can be moments... At least at first, stick to the main bike path routes on the Chicago bike map, they are the easiest and safest. Avoid Western and Ashland if possible, at least at first...

Hi, I'm Tomás. I am new to the social networking, but I've been commuting and riding for fun in Chicago for two years. I like to travel and cook and eat the resultant food like the fat person I will someday become. Why, here's a picture of me getting fatter at The Spaghetti Warehouse in beautiful Elk Grove Illinois.

I work as a shop coördinator at Bobby's Bike Hike where people rent bikes and take guided bike tours. I've been tinkering with bikes since I found half a bike partially buried in the woods and restored it to beater mtn bike status. My future holds self sustained tours; if anyone would like a touring partner for the winter of '09-10 lemme know.
About the stable of bikes: Since I moved from a house with a garage full of bikes (around 15 junkers at its peak) to a Chicago sized apartment I now have 2 bikes. The Japanese Sandman an old runabout made from the finest steel a couple hundred dollars could buy in 1987.

And The Stud, my newest acquisition. The commuter/heavy duty hauler/touring bike, also steel.

Hey!

I'm Justin. Here is a bicycle film I did of me and my commuter.

I'm Sean, an aerospace engineer with a bit more time on my hands than usual these days. I live up in Lincoln Square with my wife and our overly intelligent (and somewhat rotund) cat, Magic. I've been volunteering with Working Bikes for a few months now, and love getting grungy while bringing old bikes back to life. I've been *this* close to finishing up my pilot's license for a few months now, I used to play blues harmonica somewhat decently, and I enjoy photography.

This is me:

Here's Magic:

Me with bike #1, still on the training wheels:

Here's my first "adult" bike, a Trek 6500 that has seen it's share of Illinois trails over time, but gets a bit lonely these days:

And here's my road bike, a beauty of an '86 Panasonic DX-5000 I picked up a few years back so I'd have a prayer of keeping up with my wife:

Happy to be (virtually) here!
Hi. I'm Heather. Here I am:

Here's my bike. It's a Bridgestone CB1 that I bought around 1990. Aside from new tires, I never had to do a thing to it until I had it fitted and switched out the handlebars and saddle this year.

I adore it but am considering getting a Dutch-style bike too.

I bike for fun and for commuting around the city. Unfortunately I work in the suburbs so I have to drive every day--but thanks to my bike I've had lots of car-free weekends.

I like unusual liqueurs, Italian food and culture, and fashion. I especially love bike-fashion sites and occasionally write about biking style on the Chicago Reader's fashion blog.
