I did a general search, but couldn't find an old thread talking about a route to Flossmoor Brewery from downtown Chicago. My plan is to ride down with a group of around 8 people, drink large amounts of fantastic beer, and then take the Metra Electric back. If anyone has a a good route, or link to a good route, they would like to share I would greatly appreciate it.

There's a ride there this weekend:

On the event pages are links to some routes.
To get to the Metra Electric, take Glenwood-Lansing (north of Glenwood Lansing is a park with some trails that you can ride as well) west then jump onto 187th St (look at a map, its hard to explain). Turn south (left) on Dixie Hwy to Flossmoor Rd, which you turn west (right) which will take you to Flossmoor station.

Guess what's at Flossmoor station? MORE BEER!

Thanks for the quick reply envane. I'm just confused on how to exactly get to Glenwood-Lansing Road from downtown Chicago. I know how to get to the Burnham Greenway from the LFP, but not sure where to get off the Greenway trail in order to find Glenwood-Lansing Road. Directions make sense to me from that point on.

Ah, I see. You were giving me directions from Three Floyds to Flossmoor Station. Unfortunately, we can't make it to the chainlink ride this weekend. The group only wants to head to Flossmoor Station only, so I am actually after a route to get from the Burnham Greenway (I know how to get to it from the LFP) directly to Flossmoor Station.
Follow this route until you hit Chicago Ave, just south of I-80/94 in Lansing.

Take Chicago Ave. south to 186th.

Go west on 186th. You'll see a park on your left. There's a bike trail there.

Take the trail south to Glenwood Lansing Road.

Then, follow evane's directions above to get to Flossmoor.

Thanks, Burden. Exactly what I was looking for.
I live two towns over from the flossmor brewery. 10min ride tops

hey all- I'm going to do this ride as well, but an (older) coworker cautioned me on the neighborhood we'd have to go through. i generally don't worry but he was pretty adamant plus it's just 3 of us females. any insight is appreciated!

If you take this route: route then the only bad area you'll ride through is from the end of the LFP to 87th.  In the morning its no big deal since everyone is asleep.  As the day goes on it gets sketchier. Lots of people do this ride, and have come back alive.
