My friend sent me this. As of June 7, 1925, 304 on-street deaths in Chicago had occurred that year. By way of comparison, in 2017 there were 132 for the whole year, and that was a substantial increase. It's hard to imaging how dangerous the streets were back then.

Interesting indeed. So many seem to have been run down in the street. Looks like lots of children & older folks. The one that caught my eye in particular was the first listing under May: "James Aldrich, 83, watchman...Parnell av. Vampire."
