We are hoping that you will participate in this short survey, the purpose of which is to better understand how technology may be used to improve bicycle safety and riding quality. The information from this survey will help to increase our understanding of how to utilize technology (smartphone applications in particular) to enhance the cycling experience. The should only take 10-20 minutes to take. SeeClickFix (mobile app provider for cities and survey administrator) and I (university professor at Univ of Oregon) are working on the survey project together and would really appreciate your input. Ultimately we're interested in determining if a dedicated mobile app for cyclists would be useful or not and what features you'd want to see in that app.

Thanks for your time and help in this.

Just took your survey. Good luck.
Interesting survey. I found a few of the questions to be ambiguous, e.g. do you use smartphone or other technology while you ride, examples listed or "none". I use a video camera, which wasn't listed, but isn't "none". One question asked about obstacles and mentioned "cars". Cars aren't an obstacle to safe conditions, it is mostly the SPEED of those motor vehicles and sometimes the volume of traffic. Topography while not a concern in some cities, is a MAJOR concern in others. In cities with hills, some of the major destinations, work, school, etc. can be atop huge hills--an additional concern in cold climate areas that are likely to have icy conditions.
thanks Ben. I hope you have good participation.
Hi Ben- Just took the survey. Would love to chat sometime, as we've recently launched a bike routing app (ios only) that helps cyclists find safer quieter routes using residential streets.
