The Chainlink

Riding LFP something over 10mph, nearing Diversey, chain dropped off during a hard downstroke. Threw balance chaotic, so I intentionally pulled bike down to control fall and get offsides. Elbow gouged through gravel, dripping blood, jogger women were urgently helping in SECONDS. I rinsed off nearby and aborted getting to the Ride of Silence, knowing shock would soon set in. Carefuly rode back home to wash cuts and bandage arm. Yes, I'm well prepared for such first-aid, and used to it, but I don't like it. Deep gashes, bloody clothes, sobbing and Tylenol 3, but only barely in my top hundred injuries. Can't make an omellete without breaking some eggs I always say.
I blame haste, and a grossly wrong sized bike. Sorry I missed everyone at the ride.
